Birthday Happiness was founded by Edward Fernandes, who perceived a need in Hong Kong for a children's charity.  However unlike others, Birthday Happiness works with Partnering Organisations who nominate the centre, the day of the party and the birthday celebrants.  Working with Partnering Organisations allows us to reach a far greater number of less fortunate children.

Dr Susan Jamieson, Chairwoman, then stepped in to help. In Hong Kong for 20 years, she runs a medical practice in Queens Road Central and has received awards for her contribution to charity in Hong Kong, as well as having a practice policy of donating monthly.

Mrs Carolyn Feeney, Director, has lived in Hong Kong for six years and is responsible for the day to day running of the charity, organising the children's parties, liaising with the Partnering Organisations, party leaders and recruiting volunteers.

Ms Patricia Blair, Director, another long term Hong Kong resident has over 20 years management experience in Asia Pacific region. She is responsible for the charity's fundraising and development programmes.

Mr Andrew Barber is also a Director of the charity.  He has a long history in banking in Hong Kong and has been involved in other children’s charities in the city.
